Yesterday we held a surprise retirement presentation to one of our longest-serving colleagues, Robert North, who retired after almost 10 years with the company.
All the staff at Riddell PM wish him our very best.
Pictures includes our Managing Director, Dave Riddell, presenting Robert with a special engraved retirement watch.
Our very own inhouse poet, Sheila Penman, penned one of her creative poems, which was read out at the presentation.
Each year Riddell PM organises our Hamlet Golf Event, and we invite many friends of the Hamlet. Our guests enjoy a free day golfing at Pitlochry, but in return we ask that they make a small donation which we keep aside until this time of year and donate to charities at Christmas.
This year we collected £400 in donations from the Hamlet guests and the Company has equalled this giving a total of £800 to distribute to whorthwhile causes. This year it was decided to split the donations allowing 2 separate charities to benefit from the donations.
The first £400 has been donated to “The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal” which you’ve probably seen advertised. Our donation will help give a family a meal on the table and some presents for Christmas Day, all of which can too easily be taken for granted.
The other £400 was donated to “Crisis” which you may also have seen advertised. This will make a huge difference to some people without a home this Christmas and could even be the first step out of homelessness. Absolutely awful thought to be living rough!!

Yesterday we were delighted to meet with our Client SW Thistle Street Lane LLP to formally deliver our Health & Safety File for their central Edinburgh construction project - 45A Thistle Street SW Lane.
Located on a quiet Lane in Edinburgh’s City Centre, the works included the conversion, subdivision and alteration of an existing commercial 7-storey ex-office property to form 11 No studio, one and two bedroom apartments.
An integral part of the works was the safe demolition of an existing fourth floor link steel bridge between Thistle Street Lane and George Street. New structural steel supporting inserts were added to the openings left after the removal of the link bridge.
Riddell PM provided our full Principal Designer services during both pre-construction design and construction phases. In compliance with the CDM regulations 2015, our role included preparation of the Pre-Construction Information and production of a comprehensive Health & Safety File.
