Building Information Modelling (BIM)

In 2011 the government announced that by 2016 all its projects would require 3D BIM (with all project and asset information, documentation and data being electronic).

Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies, process and collaborative behaviours are core to these ambitions to create more efficient ways of working on all stages of the project life-cycle .

The need for Operation & Maintenance information has not changed, only the way this information is accessed.

A better, paperless way to hand over projects

  • O&M information and data is collected and organised as an asset is being constructed.
  • Always up-to-date. The O&M information can be easily updated as assets are replaced or updated.
  • On-Time. As the data is prepared as part of the construction process it will be ready when the project is completed
