SES Engineering Services were appointed by gas and electricity supplier E.ON, as Principal Contractor on a multimillion-pound extension to the Britvic soft drinks manufacturing and bottling plant in Rugby. All this will be done whilst ensuring there is no interruption to the manufacturing and bottling processes

This is the largest CHP project E.ON has undertaken in the UK to date and under the contract SES will construct a standalone new combined heat and power (CHP) energy centre which will be operated by E.ON for 15-years and will provide power and heat to the Britvic production facility. Switching to renewable power should enable Britvic to save 17,000 tonnes CO2e per year

The works comprised:

• New 2-storey Electrical Building
• Elevated plant mezzanine deck
• Amendments to 2 No. existing boiler rooms
• 40m high chimney
• 20m high chimney
• Buried ducts for electrical services
• Amendment to the existing drainage network
• Numerous bases of plant and equipment inc. 2 No. standby diesel generators, bulk diesel fuel oil tank, absorption chiller, chimneys etc
