The eagerly anticipated £34.9m Woodland View School, in Waterside, Kirkintilloch, has recently completed construction and is gearing up to welcome students in August 2023.
Set to replace Campsie View and Merkland schools, the modern building has been carefully designed to cater to the needs of children and young people aged 2 to 18 from across East Dunbartonshire who require additional support.
Delivered through a partnership between the Council, Scape, and the main contractor, McLaughlin & Harvey, the school showcases a successful collaboration in providing a top-notch educational environment.
Riddell PM played a vital role in the project by producing the Building Fabric Manual and BREEAM 2018 Building User Guide's, ensuring the school meets the highest standards of sustainability and functionality.
Billy Turnbull, who conducted a thorough site visit, compiled an extensive collection of photos capturing the remarkable progress and attention to detail exhibited during the construction process. These visuals offer a glimpse into the outstanding facilities that await the students of Woodland View School.
With the completion of Woodland View School, East Dunbartonshire takes a significant stride forward in supporting and empowering students with additional support needs. The state-of-the-art facility promises to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for pupils, encouraging their growth and development throughout their educational journey.
