Riddell PM had already worked with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) on almost 30 different Wind Farm projects before we were awarded a Contract to produce a complete set of detailed Operation and Maintenance Manuals for Clyde Wind Farm. When completed the £500m Project became Europe’s largest Onshore Wind Farm, with a total installed capacity of 350MW of electricity, enough to power almost 200,000 homes across the UK.
The works, near Abington, South Lanarkshire, included the construction of 105km of access tracks, 2 substations, an operations building and the erection of 152 Siemens 2.3MW Wind Turbines. In total Clyde Wind Farm occupies over 47 square kilometers
Clyde was constructed across separate phases, and Riddell PM delivered separate O&M Manuals for each of the North, Central and Southern sections. These comprehensive O&M Manuals were produced both in hard copy format and in electronic format. Our Slipstream Digital Manual format was provided for the first phase, while remaining phases adopted a web based SSE format. Each O&M Manual consisted of a 6 Volume File Structure which was originally developed by Riddell PM for use on SSE Wind Farm projects.
