Riddell PM won this Contract after our work on Haymarket Station, Edinburgh, for Morgan Sindall and its partner Network Rail. The £44m Manchester Victoria Station combined the original Network Rail Station with a newly constructed Metrolink Station. The Project included building a spectacular curving cantilever roof and the installation of a mezzanine access deck to the adjacent Manchester Arena.
The original Manchester Victoria Station building gained a complete makeover, blending Grade II listed Victorian architecture with 21st century design. During that refurbishment Morgan Sindall retained a Victorian stained-glass dome over the bar area, as well as restoring three war memorials in the station.
Riddell PM produced two separate O&M Manual Systems for this Contract, one in the Network Rail format and another designed by Metrolink, the operator of the tram system in Greater Manchester.
