BAM Construction and their Client Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have created one of the most modern emergency centres in the country. The new Urgent Care and Trauma Centre (UCAT), includes a new two-storey building for the Emergency Department, Critical Care and Cardiology Departments, plus a Fracture Clinic.
BAM completed the overall works across three stages. phase 1 involved demolition of a portion of the existing A&E facilities and constructing a larger section in the void. Phase 2 created facilities for a new ‘majors’, ‘minors’, trauma unit, step-down facilities, and an Acute Frailty Unit on the ground floor. And Phase 3 created the new 24-bed Critical Care Unit.
“I trained as a civil engineer and you dream of doing complex jobs. It doesn’t come any harder than creating £35m of urgent care and trauma facilities inside a live hospital environment.” Rob Bailey, Construction Manager
Riddell PM is proud to have helped BAM Construction provide the high-quality Operation & Maintenance documentation to meet the requirements of the NHS and the building’s users.
Riddell PM were awarded a Contract to deliver our Pyramid Digital Building Manual including production of the Building Fabric Manual and incorporation of the Building Services Manuals produced and provided by the Appointed M&E Subcontractors, and the Health & Safety File by IBI Group acting as Principal Designer. Riddell PM had to take into account that handover documentation was required at the completion of each of the three Phases of construction works.
Please ask us today to find out how we can become your O&M Manual provider supporting your site management team, saving time, money and eliminating the hassle from the production of project handover documentation and Building Manuals, leaving your team to focus on building construction.
