Griffin Wind Farm is a 68-turbine project in Perthshire which was developed by GreenPower (International) and, once consent was achieved and construction started, was sold to SSE Renewables.
Completed in early 2012, Griffin is located to the south of Aberfeldy. It was built on land which is a mixture of upland heather moorland, grassland and commercial forestry.
Griffin has three distinct groups of 30, 25 and 13 Siemens 2.3MW turbines from west to east on three broadly parallel ridges. The tip heights (the highest point of the rotor sweep) are up to 124m using 45m and 49m blades.
At the time construction was completed, Griffin was one of the largest wind farms in the UK, producing 156MW, an annual output equivalent to the average electricity consumption of 114,000 homes.
Riddell PM won this Contract after our work on SSE’s wind farms, including Clyde Wind Farm, and the development of a standardised six volume Operation and Maintenance Manual structure:
Riddell PM undertook the full management and production of the above suite of O&M Manuals, and presented this to SSE in our innovative Slipstream Electronic O&M Manual format.
