Hall for Cornwall, Truro

Riddell PM is proud to have supported the £20m refurbishment and expansion of the Grade II listed Hall for Cornwall Theatre in Truro.

Working alongside Kier Construction, our team contributed to this prestigious refurbishment by produced both a Building Fabric Manual and a BREEAM 2014 compliant Building User Guide to help ensure the venue’s long-term sustainability, operational efficiency, and historical integrity.

The £20m renovation embraces the theatre’s historic character while introducing modern, accessible facilities. Along with exterior restoration work, the project delivered new front and back of house areas and expanded the auditorium to a three-tier format with a minimum of 250 seats. These improvements ensure that Hall for Cornwall remains a vibrant cultural hub, welcoming a wide range of performers and audiences for many years to come.

Our Role Included:

• Building Fabric Manual: A detailed record of the theatre’s materials, structure, and finishes, preserving important heritage features and providing essential guidance for ongoing maintenance.
• BREEAM 2014 Compliant Building User Guide: A user-friendly resource outlining operational strategies that promote sustainability, enhance energy efficiency, and contribute to the overall environmental performance of the building.
