HS2 College, Doncaster

For this new-build National College for Advanced Transport & Infrastructure (NCATI) – the first of its kind in the UK – Riddell PM provided the end of Project technical documents for the Principal Contractor, Willmott Dixon

Our work included managing the production of the Project Building Fabric O&M Manual including collating all O&M Information from 28 Subcontractor Work Packages, 12 of which had Contractor Designed Elements.

The £21m College is split between two campuses dedicated to providing the higher-level training required to create HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail and other rail projects, as well as supporting those facing skills challenges such as digitalisation of the railway and an ageing workforce.

Riddell PM aided Willmott Dixon in the construction of the College’s Doncaster Campus, which specialise’s in courses relating to Rolling Stock, Track Systems and Power. To achieve this the Doncaster site includes a 50m long internal inspection pit within a heated workshop, with rail access. The project was procured via the Scape Framework and fully utilised BIM Level 2 through both design and construction stages,
