The £57million University of Aberdeen Sir Duncan Rice library provides a 21st century advanced learning environment in which the latest learning technology adds value to a collection of over one million books by means of series of flexible spaces offering various opportunities for individual study, group working, seminars and meetings.
With an exterior “cube” design, the striking interior contains a spectacular ‘Free Form’ twisting atrium that rises diagonally from the ground floor through seven floors above to the height of the building to maximise natural lighting and minimise electricity use and achieve BREEAM Excellent.
Following completion of all construction works by Pihl Construction, the library staff undertook a massive operation to move over 26 miles of the University’s book, archive and manuscript collection into the new building, much of which was from the Queen Mother Library, which has now been demolished.
Our technical writing and document management services included managing the collation of O&M information from 30 Subcontractor Work Packages and production of both hard copy and electronic copies of a Building Fabric O&M Manual
Please ask us today to find out how we can become your O&M Manual provider supporting your site management team, saving time, money and eliminating the hassle from the production of project handover documentation and Building Manuals, leaving your team to focus on building construction.
