Riddell PM is proud to have supported West Lothian Council and Morrison Construction in the successful delivery of East Calder Primary School. This modern educational facility has been developed to foster a vibrant learning environment, and our role focused on ensuring that key operational and maintenance resources are both accessible and future-proofed.

East Calder Primary School marks the second Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP) funded project in West Lothian that we have delivered to Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) standards, following our successful work at Beatlie School Campus.

In order to fully meet the (LEIP) funding requirements, we incorporated the use of Uniclass classification codes and aligned all documentation with a Uniclass-based folder structure. This approach not only ensures compliance with SFT standards, but also creates a cohesive, user-friendly framework for managing and updating essential building information over the long term.

Key Riddell PM Deliverables:

• Building Fabric Manual: Comprehensive details of the structure, materials, and finishes, categorised using Uniclass codes for clarity and consistency.
• Building User Guide: Accessible operational guidance for school staff, ensuring the day-to-day running of the building can be managed efficiently by those on site.
• Pyramid Digital Building Manual: A dynamic, cloud-based repository that brings together drawings, certificates, warranties, and maintenance instructions in an easily searchable format. The digital manual can be continually updated as systems evolve, regulations change, or new requirements emerge.
• Building Services Manuals: Although these were contracted to be produced by Castle Building Services, Riddell PM were able to provide the appropriate hyperlinks to included them in our Pyramid product.

By implementing a clear classification system and delivering user-centric documentation, we’ve helped West Lothian Council maintain compliance and streamline facility management.
